Noise reduction, on a budget.... Options

Shot today, along the river Trent. Settings were 1/500s, F11, iso 800 - the iso was higher that expected, due to fact that I was shooting in a shadow area seconds earlier, and turned to see this shot. I may well have taken this at F8, but the smaller aperture meant that the focus was nice and sharp, which was my main aim. So when processed, the kingfisher looked sharp, but the noise around the shot was distracting.



Now my chosen weapon for noise removal, is Noiseware Community - completely free, and unlike some, doesn't print a watermark, or prevent saving of images. It's free for personal use, and is a fully functioning program!

Here's the finished result!

I have noise nija and also CS3 so really I don't ned another program but I expect some willSmile

Thanks Beryl - tried NN, but found little difference between the two - certainly not enough to warrant the expense anyway!

I agree. One or the other I find CS3 easier .
